The previous version of Facebook had a few filters like location, education, work, etc. Now i don't see any of these filters and I need to find someone... Is there any way I can type a location in the search so that i can get a filtered list of people who live in that city?

In the big search bar at the top just use plain English. i.e.- "People named Bob who live in Kansas City", or Single women between the age of * and * who live in *"... etc.
