How do I delete my Facebook account? I would quite like to delete my old one but make a new one as a fresh start, and only add certain people. I heard that it's not possible to delete your account??

It's possible but they intentionally make it difficult. The method is to request deletion (which simply results in a dormant state for two weeks, like you simply didn't log in for that time). They give you this period in case you "change your mind". If you log in during that time, BAM, everything is restored like you never requested anything.
Google it, there's some good step by steps on how to do it properly.

if you want to know How to Delete Facebook Account , follow these steps :
1. Click here and log in
https://www.facebook.com/help/delete_account
2. If you really want to delete it forever click on delete my account .
3. Fill this form and press ok
Note : your account will be deleted within 14 days if you log into your account within the next 14 days, you will have the option to cancel your request .
