Of course. That's how they earn money.
You can promote your game to your friends or give them the link -- for free. And you can amass as many friends as you can so you can promote your game for free to more people
But if you want to reach your target audience in Facebook then you need to pay

If you want it to show up on every single person in myspace's page then yea. if its only on your page and a couple friends are willing to help then no, its free.
