Politics: Should individualism be banned and only collectivism be allowed? - 867 - 04-06-2014 11:58 PM

Individualism manifests into becoming independent resulting in bullying, and questioning what our govt does, and thinking about things that don't come from our controlled mass-media, private property, free-markets, capitalism resulting in greedy corporations populating the Earth, etc etc etc

Through collectivism, all things are possible, and the community taking care of everyone since everything comes from the govt, and through social eugineering, global eugenics, forced abortions, mass drugging, mass forced labor camps...the subjects can create a "New World" rid of the diseases known as humanity.

Moderation is the only thing that works, people who are immoderate and intemperate create every single problem In this world

Individuality encourages Liberal thought. On the other hand our country became great though collectivism or working together. I say leave people to do what they want.

Poorly executed satire? Maybe you're just dumb? Maybe both?

No. Democracy promotes collectivism (majority rule), while capitalism promotes individualism (personal achievement) .The tension between these two systems is one of the driving forces behind America's success.

We shouldn't do away with either one.

nope. There are some rotten people in this world and going by collectivist theory I might be living with a violent predator who'd strangle me in my sleep. I'll keep my property, you keep yours. I'll buy my own food, but not yours unless you were, say, a close friend or family.

What you're explaining sounds like Fascism ~ a complete lack of individuality where everyone believes that the government is all they need in life, thus they work to benefit their totalitarian caretakers.

Individual rights - gone
Individual thoughts - gone
Individuality - gone

In America we believe in life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, not collectively backing our government. That would be completely wrong.

I don't think you believe that but liberals do. Normally it the kid that is different that gets bullied. That is because cookie cutter regulations make intolerant bullies.

A question only an angry right winger could ask - The straw man of two extremes that serve no one to 'prove' their extreme is the only acceptable path.

How interesting! But it turns out the only thing preventing us from following your collective madness is almost a century of failed Socialist and Communist experiments. All collective systems have failed making way for capitalism. And the few ones that are still in practice today are nightmares that people who had the misfortune to be born in are seeking to abandon by any means. Take a look at Belarus, Cuba or North Korea.
