I already have 997 friends on Facebook...reaching the 1000-friend limit.

sometims the admins on facebook see if you know them and if you dont by seeing how much you chat to them and if they see you dont know them they block you from adding more people
or the friend you want to add has viruses that can harm you
or you are blocked
or the friend does not exist you spelt his name wrong
or maybe he has too many friend not you but maybe he cant have any more he has 1000 and you cant add each other

Probably because that person doesn't like you and doesn't want to be used to reach the "Hey! Look how special I am. I've got a 1000 Facebook friends. Sigh. I'm so loney" goal. Just joking. I use Facebook some. If FB can block you, then it should be stated in the rules and regs(I would think). If not, then that person blocked you. If they did, screw 'em. You've got 997 others to interact with.
One other thing. How do you know you were blocked? According to their Help Center. Under "Friends", then the "Blocking People" section states "Blocking someone is completely confidential, and the person will not be notified that he or she has been blocked."
