you can get followers on twitter by asking people to follow you, in twitter to talk to someone else you put the @ symbol than the persons user name such as @sample55 then your message.

use a service like fasttwitterstar.com or try adding other followers and they'll follow you back. It's really the only way unless you're already a celebrity
