I know everywhere I see, it says not to use your real name online, but I kind of want to. I'm using WattPad and I would like actual credit for my work, instead of having a silly username. Should I use my name or not?

That's a sure fired way to either be tracked down to a physical address or have and have your identity stolen. Why do you think they don't recommend anyone use their real name on the internet? You can never erase that mistake! Use a "Pen Name" to protect yourself!

If you want to use your name, only use the first name and only Initials after that. You could add some thing like a serial number or identifying number thats matches a document you have written.

I have been using my real name since I was 9 or 10. It's been 7 years and I have had no problems. Even using my last name hasn't been a problem. The only website I wouldnt use that information would be chatrooms as I truly believe that is dangerous.
