Wireless Limited Access Problem!? - Sharni - 04-08-2014 04:09 AM

Just bought a new laptop With windows 8. ( sony Vaio Model" SVF152A29W ) I got it about 3 weeks ago, And the wireless Internet keeps going onto limited Access and cuts of all my internet. I have to keep repairing it which takes about 3 minutes for it to finally go back to normal then it does it again 5 minutes later! it's really annoying. It has nothing to do with my internet because everyone in the house is using a laptop and they do not have this problem! Please help!

p.s. i have contacted Microsoft about this problem too, but they are trying to charge me $99 dollars just to get someone to look at it!
I've noticed a lot of people have this problem. But if you know how to fix it please dumb it down a little for i am not a computer wizz thanks.

Try this:

1. Search and open command prompt (or cmd)
2. Type "ipconfig" without the quotation marks.
3. Then type "ipconfig/release"
4. Finally, type "ipconfig/renew"
5. Close cmd

I've tried this method and it actually fixed my problem I had the same as you.

its usually due to incompatible wireless chipsets.
the cures include

1 stop using wpa-2 security, its the worst option for incompatible chipsets
2 replace your WiFi card with one that is compatible with the router
3 replace the router
4 get clever. look at your pc settings for power saving, disable as many power saving features as you can, especially the wifi ones. You have to expand all the advanced settings for the wifi card to find them, or the advanced settings for your power scheme.
5 by far the best cure is USE AN ETHERNET CABLE INSTEAD.
