do users have the option of choosing which friends are on display on their page/ and or what order those people are in? like myspace when you would have a top 5 and always put your best friend or girlfriend/boyfriend first

nope, facebook is completely random. although you can send a relationship request to your gf/bf and if they accept then that'll be displayed on your profile
