Website will not get ranked as soon as you host a website. Your website must be indexed in Google search engine. Search for popular keywords and put it in your web page. Do SEO regularly. Update site with fresh and unique keyword rich content. Promote it with SMM. Do this will increase site's rank coming in Google pages.

Put your targeting keywords in title, meta description, alt tags and include 4 to 5 time in your webpage content. Build high quality backlinks to your website by using your targeting keywords as anchor text.
many people are saying that update your content regularly, or write keyword rich unique content regularly, I cant understand the logic of this exercise. It is useful only for blogs, news sites, magazines etc... how a small business website can change their content regularly?
My suggestion is do not create your website for search engines, create your website for users. I am sure that search engines will give you the credit of effort you put.
