I have obsidian and I want to make a handle for my knife and I don't know how to cut it so how could I cut the obsidian cheaply and easily and will a screw crack the obsidian if I put one threw???
hot much would it cost to have a rock specialist to cut it

obsidian is really hard to break i don;t think you'll be able to.

That is hard stuff, you probably want ot find someone who works with rocks, perhaps who does lapidary, typically rocks are cut with a diamond blade saw cooled by oil. Seems like to brittle a material to be practical, won't it break if you drop the knife it on a hard surface?

Google "flint knapping". Obsidian is very hard and brittle. You throw a knife made from it the blade will shatter.
