I've had tumblr for ages now (since March 2012 haha) and I've still only got 118 followers. I haven't gained (only lost) followers in the last 12 months or so but I don't understand why! I don't think my blog is too bad... I mean obviously I like it, but yet I'm still losing followers. I understand why in the first year of using the site I had under 50 because my posts were awful (looking back in my archive) and so was my URL, but now I think it's pretty decent?
My friends who got tumblr at around the same time as me have around 700+, and one even has over 1000! For me that sounds impossible to reach. None of them self promote or use special websites or anything.
If you could have a look at my blog (p-ariah.tumblr.com) and advise on what I can improve (and follow!) that would be loads of help. Thanks

I would you suggest participate in promos to get your blog noticed. It really helps and you can gain 20+ followers. That's how I gained mine and I figure it's probably the best way. I don't have a lot though. http://marcoh.me/tips
