we have been turning our router off every single night but i read online its better not to? will it increase the electricity bill? will it break?

The electricity drown from the router is almost nothing.Leave it on

You're saving a small amount of energy - which is more important because you don't actually benefit from burning it. So, switch-off, when you don't use it.

You have a better speed if it stays on all the time. The lectricity the router uses is like $2 a year.

Leaving your router on every night will not have a significant impact on your utility bill as these devices really don't use that much energy. And you won't shorten it's lifespan either way. So, whether you choose to leave it on or turn it off, it won't really impact you significantly either way. It's just a matter of choice.

Turn off both the router and the modem.
Turned off, it keeps hackers from trying to hack into them.
