What to do if a website is not responding to my complaints? - look0988 - 04-08-2014 04:23 AM

There this website called masterseek.com and it has a profile with my name and employment information which is false.I tried to email them but they're not responding. They didn't leave any phone number.Their headquarters are in Denmark but they have office in Nevada.I send them a letter but so far I got nothing from them.
I'm willing to take legal actions against them. They can't just publish someone's private information on the internet. Aren't they?

Actually, your name and employer is not private information. If they were publishing credit card numbers, your social security number, etc., then you would have a case.

I would send them a certified letter. Plus, you can send them a cease and desist letter as well. Just enter those words in a search engine, there are templates for that. Plus, advise them that you will start posting negative comments all over the internet, thus giving them a bad rap - it is called Online Reputation Management.

I just looked up Masterseek for you and they have been critizised for inaccurate information before. Plus the company has gone bankrupt several times and the only listed Danish company with this name is listed as being under bankruptcy (it's on the same street, but with a different street number). There are also several Danish articles about Masterseek and its founder online, and at a glance it doesn't entirely positive.

It seems like a bit of a mess, which could explain why they are not responding to you.

You can try sending a letter to the address that is listed for the company Masterseek in Denmark. It's the same as on their webpage, but with housenumber 29 instead of 31.

Or, you can look up who is hosting them and contact the host. I am not sure if what they are doing is illegal, but if it is, then the host is likely to take action.
