Will Google go downhill in the future? - Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis - 10-15-2012 08:25 PM

Google has been extremely dominant on the internet in the past decade. However, can it possibly go downhill in the future?

It has happened many times before. Remember in the 1990s, everyone had Netscape Navigator as their web browser? It was very popular back then. And after, IE came and stole the market off them. And since then, we've seen other browsers like Firefox becoming more popular.

Also, before Google, people mainly used HotBot or AltaVista as their search engine. And Excite and AOL used to be very popular back then too. Not anymore.

So surely, in a similar way, the 'Google era' might end in the next 10 years? What do you lot think? Can the same happen to Facebook?

All that can be said with any certainty is that nothing lasts forever.
