can you get in trouble for going on the deep web? - Ivan - 04-08-2014 04:26 AM

i just want to check it out and see what all the hype is about (i promise im no pedo lol) and i don't know how the government will take it. I will use tor

If you are going to go on TOR you should first install Oracle's VirtualBox and install an OS within that so you can keep anything you encounter secluded from the rest of your machine. Also make certain that you have an AV product installed and up to date.

I agree with tumbleweed_biff.
Run Tor in a VM, and run a VPN on that VM.

It also all really depends on what kind of content you're looking at. There's very innocent discussions on the deepweb led by mature users, and there's also pedophiles and hackers....

Whether or not Tor is traceable is still unknown, it's sort of a controversy.
You also shouldn't look at illegal things on clearnet through Tor. Onion sites provide extra protection & are more difficult to trace.
