If you die what happens to your facebook account? - Jane - 04-08-2014 04:28 AM

I know this is a crazy, literally crazy question but, what happens to your facebook acount when you die?

- Fred - 04-08-2014 04:30 AM

You just won't need to worry about it any more.

nothing facebook wont know if your dead or alive

My boyfriend's father died in December. People regularly post on it to say how they miss him, love him, etc.

I had another friend whose husband was shot and killed. She has the password to his account and still maintains it, adding old photos and such.

Sooooo... nothing happens to your Facebook when you die. You just stop personally posting to it.

nothing to do, slowly your ac will become dormant, FB still never come out with any policy on dormant ac. But i believe FB will just leave it there.

it's not that crazy - kids ask this all the time for some reason

your account gets memorialized after your family provides the death certificate

but without that happening, nothing happens

First why would you care your dead
Second. Facebook will see that you are not using it and will deactivate your account

The family may leave the account open or they may close it.
