Why is my ebay listing appearing under so many other offers? - Sean - 04-08-2014 04:31 AM

So I listed my Asus G74 on Ebay and I've noticed that it's WAAAAAAAAYYYY under all the other offers. By this I mean that it appears on the second page! There are even some backpacks that come before it -_-. If I search "Asus G74" it's on the second page which annoys me as I've been trying to sell this laptop so I can get enough money for my PC parts for a while (btw if anyone is interested here's the link to it http://www.ebay.com/itm/Asus-G74S-Intel-Core-I7-2-2-GHz-1-5-TB-12GB-RAM-GeForce-560M-17-3-/221209751347?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item338120ef33) but do you have any advice on how to get my listing higher up??? My laptop wasn't listed as one of ebay's items, so I can't do that (it only has the 8 GB version, and I have the 12 GB version)

Hi. I did notice a couple things about your listing, as compared to some others, that may help your ranking.

First, is that almost all of your title appears in parenthesis. I would remove them, as most others I saw did not have them. I am not positive, but the Ebay algorithm may be ignoring most of your title because of the parenthesis.

Secondly, I went through the first 5 or so listings on page 1 of my Asus G74 search results. All of those top 5 have the Item Specifics filled out, whereas your listing does not. One of the factors of the Ebay Best Match algorithm is detailed description, and my guess is that it reads item specifics first.

Hope those things help you out!

Yes, make it an Auction Item at a lower starting price with an option to Buy It Now or a Reserve Price
