It was simpler and less competitive a decade ago and may now require a more professional set of skills to succeed, which explains why the poorly equipped 95% or so with no business management or marketing skills fail. Still the possibility of starting a business with essentially no cost (vs a franchise store that might cost $80,000 to open) is a unique possibility that pays off for a few.
Don't believe the countless earnings claims in those get rich offers, don't invest your rent money.
