You can look for completed auctions for the item you are interested in. This will show both auctions where the item sold and didn't sell. I use it all the time to determine a reasonable price I should expect for both buying and selling. To use, click the "advanced" selection to the right of the search button, then select the checkbox for "completed listings", then put in your search term at the top and search. Green prices mean the item sold and red prices mean the item didn't sell.
