i need a simple blog thats easily customizable like tumblr but the style is more like livejournal or something

You can use WordPress but before using it you should get a little bit familiar with blogspot. WordPress is the most customization-friendly CMS but at the same time not easy to understand.

You can try Blogger or WordPress. Both are free and easy to use and you can also customize the theme as well. They have very attractive themes and layout and provides free of cost services.
If i talk about the WordPress, you can choose a free as well as paid theme for your blog. There are so many plugins are available on the WordPress.
Most of the blogger prefer WordPress because of its easy to use interface. A non technical person can handle the blog very well without the need of professional help.
