Is there anyway to report violent content on tumblr? - PNP - 04-08-2014 09:52 AM

My brother was surfing the web and he stumbled upon several tumblr blogs that has violent images and gifs of beheading and he was quite traumatized. I don't know how he came across those things but I'm sure we've all been led to some random weird places on the web. Are these content allowed under tumblr? If not, is there a way to report them? I know there are millions of tumblrs for them to keep track of but there needs to some sort of warning at least on some of these tumblrs.

If it was not tagged as NSFW, or is otherwise disgusting and gorey just to shock or traumatize people, yes, it's against guidelines.

Tumblr says to "please send us the URL [email address: abuse@tumblr.com] of the blog that is concerning you along with the details of your concern."

Other than emailing them, there might be a way to flag the post itself, but then of course, you might have to subject yourself to viewing the post again. So I would stick with the email option.
