My 11 yr old grandson keeps inviting me to play games on facebook? - J - 04-08-2014 06:15 PM

I'm 50 and use facebook a little but I am not a big user, esp. kids games. I consider myself to be fairly astute when it comes to internet security and I am very careful regarding phone marketing etc, so I am not easily duped. I do watch the news daily and recently heard something about certain facebook apps/games allowing users to access 30 mins of charges. How does this work and is my grandson trying to suck me in to this??

Please help me to figure this out.

I am not sure if your grandson is trying to suck you into it but one way to be safe is to make sure you have no payment methods linked to your account. Also, alot of games give you extra points if you invite someone to play a game one social media sites like facebook, so that might be what he is doing. If anything, I would just talk to him about it.

Your grandson shouldn't even have a Facebook. He needs to be at least 13 to have one. He's just being 11 though, it's annoying isn't it? Having so many game requests? You can block game requests by following these steps...

Click the gadget icon on the very top right > click settings in scroll down menu > on the left side you will see "blocking", click on it > on that page you can block people, apps, event invites of any kind by typing it in.

You don't even need to know the name of the thing you want to block, Facebook will search while you type and you can choose from the options they have.
