I uninstalled a program and now I can't connect to the internet? - anonymous - 04-08-2014 06:16 PM I had a ton of programs on my computer and a lot of them were really shady and since my computer was acting strange, I decided to uninstall the programs that I didn't recognize. I only ended up uninstalling 21 (I started with 149 -- less than half of which I purposely downloaded). At some point while I was in the 'A' section, though, I lost my internet connection. I figured that it had just gone out and I'd reconnect after I finished but it started to worry me and so I checked to see if I could troubleshoot. I did and it says this: "Plug an Ethernet cable into this computer" But I've never had a cable plugged in, this is on a laptop. I honestly don't know what to do but I'm a student and so I desperately need to have an internet connection to do majority of my work.
