Where is a good place to publish writing online and get feedback? - Jenna - 04-08-2014 06:16 PM

I am not a fan of fanfiction, and WattPad to me seems to only attract people that want to write out the fanfictions of their lives, mostly about werewolf imprints and vampires. I haven't come across a mature story on there yet, or mature feedback. Therefore, is there anywhere else out there that is a decent place to post short stories, novels, poems etc and get some feedback?

Thank you.

I agree with Alex, but I assume by the fanfiction comment that you're referring to fanfiction.net. If you like the layout of fanfiction.net, but not the subject matter, they actually have a sister site for original works called fictionpress.com

Archive Of Our Own is okay but tell people about your page or few people will see your story. Also tag it well. You could set up a blog or website dedicated to your work which you could promote on social media and ask people to R/R but maybe try that once you've accumulated a decent readership and following on another site. WritersCafe.org and Writing.com are good. Find others on this top 25 list http://www.reidkemper.com/2010/10/15-websites-where-you-can-post-stories.html

I suggest posting your stories on a few different sites. Just not too many that you feel overwhelmed posting and checking up on all of them or possibly have a problem with plagiarists. I suggest 2 sites but it depends what ur comfortable with / how much time you have.
