See who's been viewing my facebook profile? - beach_gal - 04-08-2014 06:18 PM

There's a new thing on facebook you can do that shows you who's been viewing your profile the most often and recently. Is there a way to turn it off so that no one will see if I went to their profile? Because that's what myspace can do, or so I've heard. I just think it's awkward if I looked at someone's profile and they knew it.

Its just a myth there is no REAL way to see who was on your profile. Its just things to get you to click on them

I thought the same thing and I am looking for the answer too. No luck though

That is not true. FB does not allow that because it would be in conflict with the privacy policy.

Right now there are hundreds of thousands of users that have tried this scam and it appears to be a wide scale attack. Where is the scam coming from? All of these sites and Facebook Pages are misleading users:

This scam could have already reached millions of users as the size of the scam has continued to increase in reach over the past 72 hours. Beware, this is a complete scam and you will not be able to view who visited your profile. Instead, in the worst case you’ll end up spreading the false information and end up losing your money.

Facebook doesn't allow people to track who views their profiles or contents. Third party applications are also are unable to track anybody.

Follow the source to see the Facebook's statement about this issue.

Despite what you hear from many applications, you can’t tell who views your profile. It's a violation of the terms of use on Facebook. I suppose that there may be an application, but using them will likely cause Facebook to delete your account without warning since you are violating the privacy rights of other people.

These profile viewing applications are not run or owned by the Facebook Company. These “fake” applications don’t work either and some may even contain viruses too! What’s worse is that it may even be owned by creepy people or hackers/stalkers that’ll take all of your Facebook data and use them for their own purpose (which probably isn’t good).

The Facebook help center also says that they “do not provide applications or groups with the technical means to allow people to track profile views or see statistics on how often a particular piece of content has been viewed and by whom. Applications you use may ask for permission to access content from your News Feed and Wall. Granting this permission does not allow applications to see who has viewed your profile. It simply allows applications to see which friends have interacted with posts, such as which friends liked or engaged with a particular wall post.” In other words, most of the applications don’t really know who has view your profile.

The good thing about this though is that you can look around other people’s profiles without getting discovered or caught. So yeah, you can go ahead and snoop around at your crush and you won’t get caught!

Hope this helps!!
