So I told this girl from one of my classes that she looked very pretty, and she smiled and thanked me. Do you think it would be alright to friend her on facebook, or would that seem weird?

I think you should. Whether it's weird or not, you'll probably regret it if you don't add her. In any case, a lot of girls are insecure, so they appreciate compliments like that whether they show it or not. I think that adding her won't ruin your chances for anything. It all depends on what you say to her that might screw things up.

Sure you can friend her on Facebook but most likely she's not interested in you. She was being nice and polite by saying thank you and smiling. So after friending her don't message her or like all her statuses or pictures. But do comment on statuses where she ask for advice or opinions.

If you like her enough, yes- friend request her i Facebook. If she doesn't accept, this time, try again, in a year or more.

I think with all of these answers your going to just end up doing what you want after all which is a good thing. Personally I think it's very sweet of you to man up and tell her she is pretty. It wouldn't be weird if you added her on Facebook but just try to not come off too desperate you know? Every girl is different. If she likes you she will be happy you did but if she doesn't feel the same way or isn't sure yet then you might just push her away. Maybe try talking to her again and see if she keeps the conversation going and seems to enjoy your company? It's not desperate, creepy, or weird if you add her on Facebook so ignore all of those people telling you it is. It just depends on the type of girl she is and how well things are working out for you
