I just received an airport card through the mail and its not connecting to internet? - Alexi - 04-08-2014 06:30 PM

I recently bought an airport card for my Apple iBook g3 and I just installed it. Well, once I booted up my mac I saw that once I tried to connect to the internet and it said it couldn't and to retry. I have WPA password protected networks and I read-up online that I can't connect to those "yet" I have Mac OS X Version 10.3.9 and and don't have the AirPort Software because I can't connect to the internet to download it. There's only one network connection and its ZyXEL and it has a WEP password but I don;t know what it it. Can some one please help on how to connect to the internet or some other thing. Thanks.

We can't help you if you don't know the necessary passwords. Get a friend to download the software and put it on a USB stick.

To join a WPA network, a Macintosh computer must have:
* an AirPort or AirPort Extreme card, or compatible third-party card.
* Mac OS X 10.3 or later.
* AirPort software version 3.3 or later for the AirPort Card (available via Software Update).
* AirPort software version 3.2 or later for the AirPort Extreme Card (available via Software Update).

To download software without an AirPort card, buy one of these–> http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Cat5e-Ethernet-Patch-Meters/dp/B001TH7GVE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1390908726&sr=8-1&keywords=ethernet+cable
