Is having Facebook good or bad? - ashley - 04-08-2014 06:36 PM

Is having Facebook a good or bad thing? I deleted mine a while ago and my life has been much better because I found Facebook to be quite addicting and distracted me from doing things. I've been learning languages, being more active and going out more. But my social life is suffering, I think.

In your opinion is Facebook good or bad?

i think is good for the social aspects of things and chatting to friends and stuff but can become quite addictive. it depends how addictive your personality is Smile

It can be good by interacting with friends, but bad cause the government and work places find anything about you through it..

It's ok but I think u will waste ur time for nothing, for checking friends statuses or comments, and playing annoying games

From my own experience, Facebook is fine as long as you hide your real identity and don't add people you know in real life.

Facebook is not bad unless you get addicted or misuse it. I use facebook for about 1 hour daily.

I think it's good if, used in the right way. I go on about
twice per/week to see what my kids and grand kids
have been up to. Not sure about some people that
sit on it all day, day after day.

On analyzing it, the group could only conclude that the results were inconclusive and mixed. Thus, the debate rolls on.

Key survey findings include:

96 percent of college students use Facebook; Grades of students who checked Facebook while studying were 20% lower than grades of those who didn’t check Facebook while studying; 79 percent of students did not believe that multitasking in the way mentioned above negatively affected their grades;

20 percent of students that use social media reported feeling connected to their institution;
75 percent of college students reported wanting to collaborate online.
