I'm thinking of making a Facebook account but I only want to have a few close friends and I only want them to be able to see my profile. If I add someone can all of their friends see my profile ?

I think it depends on your settings

When you set up your Facebook account, go to their privacy settings. You will see a section "Who can see me" or something like that. Choose "Friends Only". This way, only your friends can see your profile. Anyone else will see a message that says you only share with friends.
