How can I get a job in marketing? - Vixen - 04-08-2014 06:42 PM How can I get a job in marketing? I am a junior in college. I have some sales experience. I have some marketing experience. I have some entrepreneurial experience. I have some miscellaneous job experience. I have great work ethic and a positive personality. In school: I have about a 3.2GPA, which is not the greatest, but I have a baby and feel pretty content with my GPA. I do not participate in any organizations on campus because each one I got into, I later on fell out of commitment to it because I felt that work experience would be a much better use of my time than coming awkwardly into organizations and feeling like I didn't really get much out of it? Do I need to be more involved with school? Does it look like I need to be doing more? I just want to make sure I make myself competitive/attractive enough to get a job after college. - Employment Guy - 04-08-2014 06:47 PM Getting marketing internships with well know companies will help. Extra-curriculars like volunteering, athletics and joining school clubs and honor societies will help. Getting your GPA up will help. Being a proven expert at Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn & blogs will help (especially if you can point to using them to help businesses -- e.g., measurable results). Good luck! |
