Who is the best domain registrar? - Got Answers? - 04-08-2014 06:44 PM

I host my websites through a VPS because I'm trying to make my sites as fast as possible, and when I was with GoDaddy for hosting I noticed they would take FOREVER to load, checked out their IP and they were hosting 1000 websites on the same box... but now I have most of my domains w/ Godaddy and 1 with NameCheap and about to pick up another and am wondering if GoDaddy's hosting is that crowded and slow maybe their nameservers are also overloaded?

Are there any big differences in performance based on your domain registrar if you are pointing the nameserver to your own VPS?

Get yourself a dictionary to find definitions of the following terms:

Pointing your domain to your server's DNS does not affect the response speed of your domain. The issue seems to be more on the server side. You may have too many websites hosted on the same server that is producing a high LOAD on the server itself. Stopping your DNS server on your server itself would however bring the load down a bit on your server which would make it more responsive.
