If I get my own router will internet connection be faster? - A - 04-08-2014 07:09 PM

I'm a college student living in an apartment with 3 others and we all share wifi off of one router. The router is in one of the other girl's rooms. Well the wifi on both my computer and phone sucks while on this wireless so I have to connect my laptop to an ethernet cord a lot of times. I just got a new tv and was trying to put netflix on it, but it was too slow again. So my question is if I get a router of my own and put it in my room would it make the internet faster and would netflix work better?

No. You will only get what ever speed the internet provider sends to the modem. Also it is very complicated to hook up a second router. To be honest, I think you would be wasting your money to buy a second router.
I think only a faster internet plan would help.
