The Facebook Official dilemma? - Nimme Claeys - 04-08-2014 07:19 PM

My boyfriend (since about a week) asked me yesterday to put our relatioship on Facebook, because people were talking about it behind his back. It thought it was a bit soon, so it took me a while to answer. He then quickly added we could surely wait if I wanted to wait. I said I was fine with it, but that it really did make it official and that I thought it was a big deal, but he could request it and I would accept. Probably sensing the doubt in my answer, he said that it could wait until tomorrow. We met up that evening and didn't talk about it but had a great night nontheless. Such a great night that I really became certain that he's the right guy for me, and I do want people to know that. We are getting pretty serious anyway. I met his parents and sister and he's probably coming over to meet mine this next week.

However, he didn't mention it today. It's probably because he still thinks I have doubts? I don't really want to bring it up because it feels unnatural to me. Should I wait for him to bring it up again? Should I request the relationship, without mentioning it? Should I ask him about it?

Just ask. You're making it more complicated than it is.

He obviously wants to do it so if you want just request it. Otherwise if you don't want to do it just say you don't like advertising everything across Facebook before you introduce him in person to all your friends and family in person first.
