I am just about to publish my blog online but I need a suitable domain and title for my blog. I would like something short, simple and catchy like -needlesandthread- (already taken) or something with my name in it (meg). xx

I am not big on vanity names, you can find lists of positive adjectives that would appeal to more people than mom, and have some psychological attraction.
I would probably look through seller names on Etsy for inspiration.There are bulk name search options in registrars like godddy that allow you to check a list of ideas at once.
There are sites with tools that help you come up with fictitious names, including: wordlab.com, naming.net, wordoid.com, lingzini.com, namestation.com, domainsBot.com some of these tools look up the domain name availability as you go.
If you find an available .com name, there's a high probability that it' not a trademarked name.
