so I'm doing this thing in french and I have to write about what gadget I'd buy with £1000.
What is an example of a gadget?
from a stupid person who has spent most days at school, then in my room doing nothing but listening to music, don't know much about this world hahaha.

That is a French sounding slang word that is used to refer to a perhaps contrived device like a mouse trap, coffee maker etc.
I did find a page referencing the French use of the term, which lists synonyms including:
