What do I do to not show what I do on the internet? - Nathan - 04-08-2014 07:24 PM

I used to often switch pages when my parents entered my room, but they don't like it beacause it looks suspicius. I have all sorts of tastes and don't think that they need to see it.

Many browsers have settings that don't save browsing history. In Internet Explorer it's InPrivate Browsing. In Google Chrome it's InCognito. In Mozilla Firefox it's Private Browsing. Keep in mind that it won't save website history, etc etc on your computer. It will not protect you against people standing behind you, the NSA spying on you, or a duck somewhere in the world spying on you (anatidaephobia).
Make a habit of having legitimate things in tabs in a normal window, then have the "stuff that must not be named" in a separate window with the private/cognito browsing mode on. Therefore, if you parents come into your room, you can simply either "ALT-TAB" to switch to your previous window, or "ALT-F4" to close your "stuff that must not be named" window. Happy browsing!

On Internet Explorer you can use InPrivate Browsing, Google Chrome use Incognito mode.
There is also an extension you can get for Google Chrome called the panic button.
You can configure certain keystrokes to hide whatever your looking at, open a new tab with a specific website you configured.

Reposition your computer so the screen isn't visible from the door.
Other than that, how would you hide what you're doing without putting a piece of cardboard all around the screen and your head or something like that?

You could of course also simply not visit furry manga porn sites when your parents are at home.
