Update refer to the filters and restriction added in search engine algorithm for giving more accurate and filtered result to the user. The latest and effective update was Penguin 4 on May 22, 2013 after that there was one more update regarding spamming.

Hello,
Google rapidly changes their algorithm for better and accurate result so the algorithm update takes place.The latest algorithm update is Penguin 2.0 in which 2.3% of English search query is affected.
