It depends on exactly what services you want, what your goals are, what your budget is, etc. You can take a lot of time to learn some SEO yourself, or you can take a little bit of time to find a good quality company. I know the guy that runs directorybug.com and he's a good guy (not into black hat SEO which will damage your results in the long run, etc) and does affordable work.
