Why do people love Adam Sandler? - Colm - 10-15-2012 08:38 PM
I never really liked Adam Sandler or thought he was funny or even a good actor. And yet he's like one of the biggest stars in Hollywood and his Facebook page has over 30 million likes. I mean most of his movies are just stupid and unfunny receive mixed to negative reviews by critics and he hasn't really made any masterpieces either. And his performances are just annoying and even embarrassing and they just have him shouting and acting like an idiot. And his movies are often nominated and awarded at the Razzie Awards for Worst Actor or Worst Picture or something. I mean take one of his latest movies, Jack & Jill, it won 10 Razzie Awards alone and is now considered one of the worst movies ever made. I mean there are actors and comedians out there who are funnier than him like Jim Carrey, Steve Carell, Will Ferrell, Seth Rogen, Bill Murray, John Cleese and Jonah Hill.

He's a cool guy, a lot of his movies are good and bad.
But, he's a solid actor.
Also, remember he's a actor for movies, not the writer.

Television has made people stupid.That is why they have such bad tastes.Also Adam Sandler is Jewish and Jewish actors get promoted because of the Jewish lobby in Hollywood.

Year, those people might be funnier but Adam also has a fan base that's very strong. There are a lot of comedians out there who I don't care for but that's my opinion.
Regardless, Adam is very successful, funny and cool plus he's not stuck up or selfish like some and he always likes to take pictures with the fans and overall, he just seems genuine. That's just my opinion though.

Consider the Three Stooges. Why on earth were they popular?
The answer is that a lot of people seem to enjoy really stupid comedy.
Sandler offers just that: really stupid, broad farce, with a little schmaltz mixed in for good measure.
His fans know what to expect from him, and they get what they want. He's not my cup of tea, but as the saying goes: it takes a lot of different tastes to make a world, so to each their own.
(By the way, although you'd never know if from most of his movies, Sandler can actually act, when he wants to. Check out his role in 2002's "Punch Drunk Love". Never thought I'd hear myself say this, but he's actually damned good in it.)
