Can i browse internet if DNS is not working? - Ab Hanan - 04-08-2014 07:44 PM I want to browse internet whenever my DNS service is not working. I have saved some website IP addresses which are my favorite websites. So i want to know that if my DNS service is not working i can browse websites with their IP addresses or not??? Thanks in advance. - Charlie Tuna - 04-08-2014 07:50 PM You can use the Google's Public DNS service. I use it instead of my Verizon's DNS. Configure your network settings to use the IP addresses 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as your DNS servers. ( Its very easy to do ) Google: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 Open DNS: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 - TEX4S - 04-08-2014 08:03 PM no you cant - like others have said - change it to google's DNS - Krowten Nimda - 04-08-2014 08:13 PM Yes, you can. DNS just changes the names to IP addresses. So if enter http://192.168.1.1/admin/index.html) and the server isn't setup to redirect you automatically you would have to enter the full URL. However, it might be easier to just change DNS providers, as others suggest. |
