is facebook a form of conformity? - Lily - 10-15-2012 08:39 PM

we're just making ourselves products off of everyone else's opinion. it's like marketing ourselves out there. i think i like twitter a lot more. just saying

and twitter is different how?

they are both just networking sites...

If you create an account on facebook just because everyone else is, then yes, it is a form of conformity... But most people I know don't have an account, so I don't see what there is to conform to...

I honestly don't see the appeal of facebook. I ended up deleting my account.

If you are using it just to keep in touch with people then don't worry. If you really want to meet up with them later down the road then they will still most likely have a facebook so you can make another one.

If you use it for any other purpose then you are just wasting time when you could be doing more important things.

Twitter is better imo as well, because most likely the things you tweet are only going to be relevant to those close to you anyways.

DUH!!!

I can't BELIEVE people (read: robots) create facebook accounts.

Did you see that clown who wound up in PRISON because of what he posted on his facebook account? What an /\SSHOLE!! he just HAD TO FRONT OFF. The D.A. used his facebook account to convict him and now he's finding out what it feels like to be a woman!

Huh, what an interesting opinion. Yeah, it's a form of conformity -- how many people are asking "Do you have Facebook?" I still have a few friends who have managed to hold out (well ok, like one friend) but the rest have definitely conformed and opened an account.

I don't see how Twitter is much better. Facebook is like Twitter on crack.
