Facebook Tagged Photo Virus/Scam? - bruinsfan - 04-08-2014 07:48 PM

Tonight I got a notification that I was tagged in a friends photo. I clicked the notification and it took me to a picture that was advertising Profile Peekers. I saw my name with others tagged so I untagged myself, changed my password and checked my apps to see if anything was installed. Nothing was installed and I didn't click anything on the page. The only thing I clicked was the notification that I was tagged. I am assuming I am safe because I didn't click any links on the page and no apps were installed. Can someone verify that I did what I needed to do and that I am safe?
Thank you SO much. You eased my mind for sure. I thought I was infected with that trojan worm or whatever it is going around. Do you think it would be safe to change my password back to what it was before or should I just keep my new one?

You did even more than you needed to do. It was probably your friend's Facebook profile that was hacked. It probably went in your friend's Facebook and uploaded a picture advertising whatever it was, and tagged a whole lot of his or her friends. You are safe, especially since you were so cautious.

EDIT:
I would stick with your new password for about a week, then you can probably change it back.
Good luck!
