Right, i have been selling on ebay for a few years now, recently i have noticed that the ebay fees are getting etreemly steep! i sold 2 items for £50 each and one of the buyers cancelled the transaction but i still got charged £5 for selling it, so after re-listing the item got charged a further £5, in all for selling 2 items it cost £20... now someone is opening a dispute over ebay, claiming the item was used as i stated as new, but the buyer has broken it themself, i just feel helpless, cant win any disputes as a seller..Fu** Ebay

Stop using eBay and PayPal. They charge outrageous fees and both buyers and sellers get few legal protections against unscrupulous users or fraud. The ONLY way on this planet to protect yourself against fraud is with a credit card. EBay's mis-named buyer protection plan gives little protection.
Instead of selling your unwanted items, consider giving away to family, friends, co-workers, or charity. If you must sell, use Craigslist and meet buyers in a public place. Insist on CASH only and all sales are final.
Many people using eBay and/or PayPal never face problems. However, many people get royally screwed with no recourse.

When a buyer fails to pay you have to open a dispute with Ebay so you can get your seller fee refunded before you re-list the item. You have to go through the Ebay process. Seller's dont have much recourse when a buyer scams them as this case against you appears to be. Sellers cannot win that kind of dispute. You have to get the item back, then give a refund.
