Does shopify websites have the word shopify in the website name? I want to start an online handbag store

It's sometimes buried down at the bottom, but not obviously so. For a new store, it's actually better to keep that there, since I would trust an online retailer built on an established platform far more than one that might be slammed together from scratch.

To be honest, this is the least of your problems! Choose on the basis of your requirements, budget, sector, skills and long term plans.

No they do not. You can use your own domain name for your ecommerce site.
