Ideas about advertising a small spa in Athens, Greece, during summertime? 10 points for sure!? - Padmini - 04-08-2014 07:57 PM

How would you advertise a small spa in Athens, Greece, for the tourists that come in Greece during summertime? I thought of distributing leaflets around Acropolis and other tourist areas... What about social media or other channels? Thanks in advance!

Very few tourists will be travelling independently , and most will take care to remain in site of the tour reps at all times , rather than do the slightest thing independently .

I have seen coachloads of grockles sitting out on the tarmac road in the blazing Cretan midday sun , because the rep had selected that café to get a drink at , while 50 yards up the road were others , perfectly good , with seats in the shade , and plenty of room .

So I don't think trying to leaflet the flocks of sheeple around the Acropolis will bring you any business whatever .
You might do better standing in Syntagma and approaching obvious tourists who are NOT in some group .

Another bet would be to try to get leaflets handed out by the staff at some of the hotels , to independent travellers , but the staff will want a commission for doing that .

Handing leaflets in Acropolis can be a act that could get you in trouble, because it is considered as hustling and it is punishable. Anyway, most of the tourists visiting Acropolis are taken there on organized tours and therefore you effort will be in vain.

A good move would be to get in touch with receptionists of hotels close to the spa and arrange a commision for any prospective customers they manage to send to it.

Tell them it is air conditioned.
