you mean 1080p , and yes 1080p is blu-ray quality while 720p is only HD quality. The higher the resolution the better the picture quality. 480p is only standard quality of tv (SD).

The main difference is in the picture quality. 1080p is mucho better than 720p. And 1080p means High Definition.
