Everything I read about Amazon Prime says that you receive free shipping on most items. Are there more eligible items than the ones that are free anyway if you spend $35 or more? Because that looks to be a small portion to me, and not at all "most".

I have amazon prime, I love it. It gives me free 2 day shipping on most items.
Yes with regular amazon you get free shipping but it takes a week or longer. The speed is the difference.

I've been an Amazon Prime customer for several years. Lately I have noticed that they sell some products as both Amazon Prime and non-Prime, and the price for the Amazon Prime product is a bit higher. Even though I am still satisfied that the $79/year Prime membership is worth the money, Amazon is looking for ways to recoup some of that expensive free 2-day shipping cost.
