I got Facebook yesterday, and in less than a day I have 55 friends. Is that a lot? Just curious...

You will gain the most friends within the first few days and it will gradually die down. 55 is a fair few, but it is about normal for when you first get it if you know alot of other people on it

OMG i have 50 friends total

For new user, 50 is lot of request.

Just be careful since Facebook will suspend your account if you add too many people. It happened to me.
To the person who thumb downed me:
If you received a warning for going too fast when adding friends, you'll need to temporarily stop sending friend requests. Otherwise, you could get blocked from sending friend requests.
If you're interested in receiving updates from people you find interesting, but don't know personally (ex: journalists, celebrities, political figures), try following them instead of sending them friend requests.
