I've had an iphone for a few years now and would like to try something else.
my main uses are: taking photos, so which smartphone has a good camera?
email- gmail. I find that the iphone email is quite limited and wonder if android is better?
apps like facebook, twitter, instagram

Or you could try the Nokia Lumia. It's actually a great phone but hardly anyone has bought it so they've cut the price in half to encourage more people to buy it.

Blackberry they have all dident tipes of them some have touch screan some don't depends on what you like and you can get all thoes apps for them

just go to instantsalezone.com they have all the new stuff for cheap i bought my droid for 90 $ from there
